Press release - Nursery opening

Brand-New Nursery Opening in Diss

New family run nursery launching from September 2024.

19th April 2024 – Diane and Emily over the moon as mother-daughter duo announce the opening of their brand-new day nursery. Their nursery will provide all-year-round childcare for local families from September 2024. Rainbows Day Nursery, located on Diss Business Park is undergoing extensive refurbishment and will be able to offer up to 100 spaces for local children from aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Their vision is to foster a loving and nurturing environment, where children feel inspired to learn and develop to the best of their ability.

The nursery has three separate classrooms, each tailored to accommodate the needs of different age groups while supporting their learning and development. It offers on-site parking, outdoor gardens, and on-site catering facilities where nutritious meals and snacks will be provided for throughout the day.

Diane and daughter Emily jumped at the opportunity to set up Rainbows Day Nursery after spotting a gap in the local market. Diane has a wealth of experience having worked in schools and outstanding rated nurseries for over 25 years. More recently, she has experience working as a neonatal nurse providing support for families both in hospital and the wider community. Emily’s passion for business and finance means it was the perfect choice to combine their skill sets. When the opportunity came up, the local residents knew they had to go for it.

Diane Pilsbury-Gaunt, Co-owner and Nursery Manager said: "We are so proud to be able to offer this much needed facility to the community. We’ve had an overwhelming amount of interest demonstrating the indisputable need. Once complete, the refurbishment will provide a first-class learning environment where the children can grow and develop with the support of our excellent nursery team. Our nursery team have been carefully selected to feel part of an extended family with the children’s happiness at the forefront."

“Our investment is significant, but I believe the value of quality childcare is especially important and we’re committed to ensuring we can deliver that in our nursery.”

Rainbows first week

8th September 2024 - Rainbows Day Nursery celebrates a successful first week!

The children at Rainbows Nursery have been settling in by getting very busy engaging in various activities including arts and crafts, water play and outdoor games.

It has been an amazing first week getting to know all our parents and children and really appreciate how supportive everyone has been.

We are looking forward to welcoming more new parents and children to be part of our Rainbow family.

“Bright, vibrant, well resourced setting. Caring staff, attention to detail and completely child focused. Highly recommend” - Emma Edwards (Grandparent)

Celebrating our 5 star food hygiene rating.

At Rainbows, we were recently awarded a 5 star food hygiene rating. Scored from zero to five stars, food hygiene ratings are given to all businesses preparing, handling and serving food - including nurseries. Regular inspections are undertaken to ensure that high standards of hygiene are maintained and that food is safe to eat.

Rainbows was awarded the highest grade of 5.

Our experienced, on-site cook, is dedicated to providing fresh, healthy and tasty meals. At Rainbows we take nutrition very seriously because a healthy, balanced diet is crucial during a child’s early years of development.

Therefore we are delighted to have received our 5 star rating. It is well deserved recognition for our Nursery team and we are committed to maintaining the highest possible standards.

At Rainbows, we offer a mid-morning snack, lunch, a mid-afternoon snack and tea. All of which are included in our fees. We also cater for breakfast.

Autumn

The children have been very busy lately learning about Autumn. They have been on walks around the local area looking for signs of Autumn and collected leaves, sticks, conkers and all things autumnal. They have had great fun putting together some displays, printing with the leaves and investigating the materials.

Themed Mud Kitchen

The children have been enjoying playing with their outdoor Autumn Café.

Continuing with our Autumn theme, the mud kitchen has been set up with some seasonal natural resources to support the children’s sensory exploration as they engage in unstructured imaginative play. It has been lovely to see them enjoying the outdoors and the learning and social opportunities this has offered them.
